Work with experts in WordPressSEOPPC, and more, remotely, through Recruitico – a trusted outsourcing solution.

Where it all began

Although Recruitico officially launched in 2018, the story actually began back in 2005—when Dawar and three of his friends started working on an amateur theatre play (called Truth & Dare) as a fun side project. What began as a bit of fun took a more serious turn when another friend joined in, secured sponsorship, and the lot managed to organise the play as a proper 3-day show in Lahore, Pakistan; which attended buy a decent audience of close to a 1000 people and generally good feedback.

That small win gave them the motivation to set up a modest event management company in Islamabad. What started as a side gig soon grew into something more. They went on to organise several events—some of which even attracted sponsorships from large corporates.

Things were very different back then—there was no iPhone, social media was just starting to take off, and everyone had a BlackBerry (yes, it was that long ago). But even in those early days, they were building websites, setting up landing pages, designing posters and banners—essentially handling everything creative and digital needed to promote their events.

They ended up working closely with digital and creative professionals, getting involved in artwork, basic online promotions, and all the bits that came with running events in those days.

At the time, none of it felt like the start of a bigger journey. But looking back, it was the first step toward what would eventually become Recruitico.

A new chapter in the UK

In 2007, Dawar moved to the UK to continue his studies. Over the next few years, he completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, with a focus on international marketing.

After graduating, he built a career in marketing—first working with a project management consulting firm, then moving into roles within the real estate sector. This hands-on experience gave him a good understanding of how UK businesses operate and the day-to-day challenges they face, especially when it comes to finding and managing the right people.

An unexpected solution

Fast forward to 2013. Dawar was working as a Marketing Manager for a real estate company in the UK when he was tasked with delivering a large marketing campaign on a tight deadline. He needed an assistant—someone who could help build and manage multiple landing pages and design brochures for the campaign.

Hiring locally proved difficult. The right people were hard to find, and time was running out. That’s when Dawar thought of an old contact from his event management days in Islamabad. On a bit of a hunch, he reached out to see if they’d be interested in helping remotely.

It turned out to be exactly the right move. The work was delivered efficiently and to a high standard, communication was smooth, and everything ran without a hitch. Not only was Dawar pleased with how it turned out, but his employer was too. They realised they were getting high-quality work at a much lower cost—and for a role that would’ve been tough to fill locally anyway.

That one hire led to more. Dawar gradually built a small, reliable remote team in Pakistan, adding new members as projects demanded. Over time, he began to see a clear pattern: while UK businesses often struggled to find digital and creative talent, Pakistan had an abundance of skilled professionals ready to work remotely.

That realisation became the foundation for what would eventually become Recruitico.

The birth of Recruitico

That realisation—that highly skilled remote talent in Pakistan could solve a very real problem for businesses in the UK—planted the seed for what would eventually become Recruitico.

In 2018, Dawar officially launched the business. But as with many startups, the early days were anything but smooth. At the time, the concept of offshore remote staffing was still met with hesitation. Many business owners weren’t comfortable with the idea of managing remote teams overseas, and there was a general uncertainty around outsourcing.

Much of the early work involved educating clients—explaining how the process worked, the quality of talent available, and how Recruitico handled everything from recruitment and HR to day-to-day support. It took time, persistence, and a lot of conversations to start shifting mindsets. But Dawar knew from experience that the model worked—and that it could deliver real value for businesses struggling to hire locally.

Then, in 2020, everything changed.

A turning point

The COVID-19 pandemic forced businesses everywhere to rethink how they worked. Remote collaboration went from being a “nice to have” to a necessity—almost overnight. What had once been a tough sell suddenly became common sense.

As companies adapted to remote work, the idea of hiring offshore staff no longer felt risky or unusual. Instead, it started to look like a smart, scalable, and cost-effective way to access the skills they needed. For Recruitico, this shift marked a major turning point. Demand grew, and so did the opportunity to make a bigger impact.

Refining our focus

As the world adjusted to new ways of working, so did Recruitico. We used the moment to step back and refine what we offered. Rather than being a general outsourcing provider, we narrowed our focus to what we knew best—and where we could add the most value.

We honed in on a specific type of client: digital agencies and tech firms. And we focused on the areas where skilled professionals are hardest to find in the UK, but widely available in Pakistan—Web Development, SEO, PPC, and general digital marketing support. This clarity allowed us to streamline our processes, better match talent with client needs, and grow more sustainably.

A new member of the team

Around this time, Tram—Dawar’s wife—made her long-standing role in the business official. She had been quietly involved behind the scenes since 2014, offering advice, helping with internal operations, and lending her perspective whenever it was needed.

In 2023, she took the leap and left her corporate career in higher education to join Recruitico full-time. Tram brought a fresh perspective, strong operational experience, and a meticulous approach to problem-solving. She played a central role in refining and strengthening our recruitment processes—from how we screen candidates to how we assess skills and culture fit.

Her structured thinking and focus on quality helped take Recruitico’s systems to a new level. With Tram on board, we were better equipped than ever to deliver consistently excellent candidates to our clients—people who not only had the right skills but could hit the ground running and grow with the businesses they joined.

Growing without borders

In 2022, we reached another major milestone—expanding to the US and signing our first client in California. It was a proud moment that confirmed what we believed all along: the need for great talent knows no borders.

Today, Recruitico operates across the UK, US, and EU, helping digital agencies and tech-driven businesses find, hire, and manage trusted remote staff based in Pakistan.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come—but we’re just getting started.
